Flower

It was love at first sight.

I seriously fell in love with the Big Blooms set when I saw it on the big screen in Houston last month. I have a thing for flowers, and I knew this set would be mine as soon as I could get my hands on it. So, what I’m going to say next is probably no suprise to any of you, I’m sure. I’m horrible about pre-ordering new stuff. I can’t stand waiting, so I end up paying extra for next- or second-day air. These big, beautiful stamps were ordered yesterday, hit the doorstep today, were trimmed and mounted, and ready to play. I just love new stuff! Love, love, love!

Here are a couple of cards that I made this evening while the husband and kids took off for poker night.

Lisa Zappa sent me the most awesome transparency card, and I just had to make one like it. The just-smaller-than-a-quarter sheet of patterned paper and transparency overlay are attached under the Old Olive strip on the left, and the ribbons cover the adhesive. The Tempting Turquoise layer is attached between the layers, and the Whisper White, on top. Flowers are adhered over transparency, and the big one is attached with a foam dot. Lisa used a a blingy brad, copper brads, and flower punches on her card; I just added some sticky-backed rhinestones to mine. Thank you, Lisa, for your inspiration!

Spencer Willis showed a really cute card made with this Au Chocolat patterned paper last month, and I had to make my own. The card is a regular card, and I sliced off all but about two inches near the fold. The patterned paper is trimmed 1/4″ shorter, and you can see the reverse of the paper when you open the card. More sticky-backed rhinestones add a little sparkle.

I made a few more cards, and will load them to my splitcoast gallery. Thanks for looking!
