Yep, I’m a bad blogger.

The past several weeks have been spent running to one place or another with the kids for karate or family functions. I’m so excited that I have NOTHING to do this weekend but finish reorganizing my stamp room/office (what a Valentine gift!) and hopefully get creative again. I need some ME time!

Because I haven’t figured out how to wrap text, I’m going to shoot the rest of the post to another page!    I’ll share a few of the projects I have finished recently later this evening.  Here are a few things that have kept me busy and away from blogging.

My cousin turned fifteen last weekend. She’d been dreaming of having a Quinceanera (think Sweet Sixteen, but for a 15 year-old) for the past couple of years. Noone in our immediate family had had one or followed those traditions, but she wanted to, and the whole family helped out. I designed and cut paper for over 350 invitations to a church ceremony followed by dinner and a Masquerade Ball, then helped to make them. (They were a huge hit, but somehow I lost my pic. I’ll have to take another!) My mom designed the dresses, my sister baked and decorated cakes. . . lots of work!  Anyway, my cousin asked Adri to be a part of her group of attendants, and she was so excited to finally get to wear her princess dress. We bought these really pretty, rhinestone strapped, acrylic soled shoes, and did the fake hair and bitty crown thing, too. My little Cinderella danced all night! I realized that I am not ready for a big production party like that. No way!

Chandler and Adrianna started taking martial arts classes during the summer, and really enjoy going to learn new moves two or three times a week. Sometime around Thanksgiving, one of the instructors asked me to stay after class (dang, was I afraid one of the kids was acting up and I missed it!), and he asked if Chan would like to work out with the demonstration team. I schlepped him to work out with the older kids that weekend and the next, and Chandler was asked if he’d like to be part of the team. Of course we said yes! We found out that the team would be performing at a Spurs game in February. WHOOHOO!

For weeks, the 30=or-so kids on the demonstration team busted tail learning a routine that ultimately lasted about seven minutes. They did SO WELL! Here are both of my kids after the game, up in the cheap seats.

A performance shot:

The whole routine was wonderfully choreographed, and they ALL just rocked. Thanks for a great experience, and for being such a positive influence in *both* kids lives, Mr. Bobby!

More later. I hope to post some actual creative stuff tonight, and some shots of my soon-to-be-rearranged office/stamp room!
