Flower

I love a little challenge!

Mixed Bouquet is one of those stamp sets I’m not sure I’ll be able to let go of. It really is (along with any other big floral, I guess) my “go to” set for anything. When I called Lori with this color combo, I asked if she thought we should stick to a certain set or just play with color for a little challenge. She suggested this stamp set, as hers has hardly been inked. Oh, be still my heart!!

Edited to add: Here’s the card Lori created – love the zig zag, the sentiment, the ribbons. . . so pretty!

I actually stamped a whole sheet of So Saffron, so I’ll have to make a stack of cards to send out. I’m pitifully behind in sending stuff . . . Here are the two cards that I came up with.

My favorite of the two:

It’s a hybrid of 11Valerie11’s “Joy-fold” card and a Big Buckle card. Here’s the inside:

Supplies that both cards have in common:
Stamps: Mixed Bouquet, Bouquet jumbo wheel, “hello” from Sweet Shapes
Ink: Real Red, Groovy Guava, So Saffron, Wild Wasabi (Classic); Real Red, Whisper White (Craft)
Cardstock: Groovy Guava, So Saffron, Real Red
Accessories: Red and white gingham (SU!), small corner rounder, 1/8″ handheld punch, Sticky Strip

Stuff used on just the funky fold card:
Whisper White cardstock, edge distresser from cutter kit, red wide organdy, Stickles, and a Basic Grey magnetic snap to keep it closed nicely (hidden under cardstock layer – they’re so thin you can do that!).

Beautiful! I love this set and find it one of the most forgiving of all SU sets. Mebbe that’s why I love it so and will have it among my keepers for awhile. Your work and color combos are always so inspiring. TFS!

  1. […] Yesterday, Jenn calls me from the bank drive-thru and says, “wasabi, guave, real red and saffron…..you on?” Pair that with another fabulous sketch from Roxie for this weeks sketch challenge, …you can see Jenn’s card here. […]
