Double Line Doodle Gift Card Holder

So much of Target’s stuff makes you just want to bring it home and make something for it or from it!

This started out with the doodly gift card pictured above and turned into another project for Julie & Erin’s retreat last weekend. Here’s the finished project:

When I got started on this, I tried quite a few things that just did not work out at all. I tried an envelope template, tried a Velcro closure, tried all kinds of things that just weren’t right. I was a little (a lot!) frustrated, and started yet again, this time, looking to friends for inspiration! The little coin envelopes I had a ton of made me think about Julie and the tiny purse she gave me the first time we met in real life, and for a closure, I looked to Mish and her always-interesting card closures.

Want to make your own? I’ll post the flyers I made in .pdf format in the splitcoast forums this weekend, likely Sunday. I have to figure out how to make the file smaller! With tonight’s poker night, and my grandparent’s fiftieth wedding anniversary party tomorrow, and my sister-in-law’s 40th on Sunday, it’s going to be a busy weekend! So much to do, and I still haven’t made anniversary and birthday cards! WHOOPS!

Have a fantastic weekend, everyone!

This really is a cute idea! I love the fun bright colors and how well it goes with that gift card… wouldn’t it be fun if they came up with a blank card that we could stamp and decorate ourselves??
