When you need a girlie gift in a hurry

and have a houseful of kids and no desire to take them all to the maul mall to choose a birthday present for a little girl whose party is in a few hours and you’ve had all kinds of other things to do during the week and didn’t get a chance to buy said gift and are whining to a friend about your poor, poor situation, try this!

Thank you, Lori, for a fabulous idea. I so, so, so appreciate it!

Here’s a closeup:

If I’d had a little more time, I probably would have painted the skewers green, and used shredded green tissue instead of the crumpled pink stuff.

Edited to add: I’ve had several emails asking how I got te leaves on the skewers. I made another flower, and took a few pics. You can see those after the page break.

Here’s the card:

This is something I’ll do even when I only have my two kids and time to shop for a gift.

Thanks for visiting!

Click for supplies and a how-to for the leaves:

This should explain. If it doesn’t, let me know!

Stuff I used on the bouquet:

Stamps: Playful Alphabet (Kitchen Sink Stamps – a new favorite for sure!)

Ink: Stampin’ Up! Tempting Turquoise Classic Ink

Paper: Pink Acanthus (Amy Butler for K & Co) on pail, Just Perfect Flowers (Tres Jolie by My Minds Eye) on flowers

Accessories: Medium weight coasters, Cuttlebug Flower #1 Dies, Acrylic paint can (I used an empty Prima can), Ribbon from my stash, Bamboo BBQ skewers, tissue, Diamond Stickles, foam dots and sticky strip to hold stuff together, Heidi Swapp silk flowers, cash

Stuff I used on the card:

Stamps: Playful Alphabet (Kitchen Sink Stamps)

Ink: Brilliance Ink in Pearlescent Orchid and Pearlescent Lime

Paper: Cool Caribbean long note, Pixie Pink, Whisper White, Parrot green scalloped edge cardstock by Bazzill, Stripes are scraps by Amy Butler and I’m unsure of the pattern name.

Accessories: Turquoise glitter, Swarovski crystals, ribbon from my stash, Diamond Stickles
