Happy Friday!

229sketchjbalcer.jpg

After getting home yesterday, running the kids around town for school stuff and shopping for field trip lunch contents, dropping kids off for TKD (at different times, sheesh!), I spent some time cleaning off my desk and worktable (I’d decided to clean out my closet the day before and everything was piled up pretty high still). It was so nice to have a clean work surface again, so I messed it all up of course!

Beate’s sketch was a terrific jumping off point for these three projects. I enjoyed this one a lot! You can find her sketch here, and wonderful creations by Beate, Cami, Charmaine, Laurie, Lori, Mary Jo, and Sharon at their blogs. I so look forward to seeing what they’ve created with the sketch each Friday, don’t you?

The scrapbook page is 8 1/2″ x 11″ and there’s some seriously sappy journaling conveniently hidden behind the two cards. You might recognize the people (Daven, Julie, Lori, Sara, and me) in the snapshot taken after dinner in California a few weeks ago. Beate & Tracy couldn’t make it, and they were missed, for sure . . . It’s always so good to see everyone, but so hard to say goodbye. These people? They’re coworkers, great traveling buddies and sounding boards, and friends. We might not share an office or even see each other more than once a year (*if* we are lucky!), but they’re always there if you need them. These people are family to me. I could go on forever, but I’ll just get on to the cards and what was used to make them!

I used the new Fiskars Threading Water punch for all of the hole-punched scallops. Sheets of Scenic Route, Making Memories, and Stampin’ Up! patterned papers, as well as Making Memories layered stickers (to cover where the adhesive *really stuck* to the paper and I ripped the top layer off when I went to reposition a layer and had to cover my ooops!) were brought out of the stash to make the page and the cards. The green rub-ons are from SU! and are a SAB choice this go-round seemed to work well on the simple card. Ribbons used were from May Arts (polkadotted black) & SU!, and I even used some Stickles. I don’t remember the stamp set name (pictured above), but it’s availably tomorrow from the SU! mini-catalog. If you have questions about any of the supplies used, just let me know and I’ll clarify.

Seriously, me making three things in one evening? Especially the night before a big poker game is happening at my house and there’s still stuff all over the living room that needs to be put away, dishes in the sink, a bathroom that’s a wreck, and LOST was quite captivating? Oh yeah! Way to slack! Here’s hoping the cleaning fairy shows up at noon today. I’ll do the last minute clean-up before everyone shows up this evening . . . and then leave to watch The Other Boleyn Girl with my mom! Whoohoo for a girlie movie on poker night!

Y’all have a wonderful weekend!

I am so diggin’ the Fiskars threaded water punch- thanksalot!! Also love the colors of this. It always amazes me when things like old oliv-ey greens and soft sky blues go right smack together when you throw in black.

    Well done!!
