One sketch, two looks

Well, not two really different looks, but two looks indeed. Okay. Scratch that. How about three looks? I made two cards on Wednesday night, and then a scrapbook page last night, all from Beate’s sketch for this week. And (hold your breath!). . . I used stuff from my stash. Lots of it.

Like this Scenic Route paper. And Prima rhinestone swirls.

And another one using the same paper. And embossing powder, Copics, and Kaiser rhinestones. And Nestabilities!

timewellspentsketch.jpg

And look at all of these eyelets. . .

img_7295_2.JPG

I used my Crop-a-dile to punch all of those holes. And just went to town setting eyelets. And look, I even used four jumbo Heidi Swapp photo corners! And new paper from Prima and somewhere else. I’ll have to check the little label thing to find out for sure. I’m not finished with this yet (it needs a title and some journaling in that green block, I think), so I’ll share when it’s all completed.

As I was typing, I thought, dang. That’s a lot of NEW PAPER. I know buying more kinda off-sets me using stuff like the photo corners and eyelets and rhinestones, but that’s okay. See, I have a weekend schedule that I have to stick to. . . . Drop one kid off at TKD at 8:45 and shop at my local scrapbook store with the other kid until 9:45, then drive back to TKD to pick the first kid back up. Then go home and admire everything, and get back to the reality of house cleaning and projects that you put off for the weekend (and then generally put off again for next week), and then I store my new paper and things away on a shelf or in a drawer. And then forget about it until the kids or I need to do something, like a school project. . . and then I say, “OH! I have the perfect whatever for whatever. Let me get it!” and then I’m redeemed, the project is fabulous, and once again, my hobby saves the day. (Like using Basic Grey magnetic snaps to keep my husband’s cell phone holder flap thing down. Genious!)

This week’s been busy . . . It’s poker night tonight, so there will be lots of running around before everyone shows up. And, I have two kids that have to be in two places at the same time tomorrow – which means no trip to the scrapbook store. I think once I’m done playing chauffer, I’ll look through what I already have and use it again. It feels good! (And yeah, I’m aware that I say that it feels good to use what I have and keep buying stuff. Just nod your head and agree! You know what I mean!)

Yikes – that’s a lot of rambling! Be sure to check on Beate, Cami, Charmaine, Laurie, Lori, Mary Jo, and Sharon and see what they have to share today, too.

HAVE A FABULOUS WEEKEND!

eta: And yes, comments are WEIRD on this post. I need to get with Scott to see if he can fix it. I know I need to add the old posts, but didn’t think the comments would just flock to any post! And yes, I went back to the old template even though it doesn’t support widgets . . . so none of the little extras like the calendar and the picture of me show up. That’s okay. . . hopefully I”ll have a custom template soon. 🙂 Thanks for your patience as I get everything settled.

What a great idea to use the window to get a group shot including yourself. I know I have to shove the camera at my DH to get any pictures with me in them! I remember the days (honeymoon) when I got tired of him taking so many pictures of me! LOL! Thanks for sharing Jenn!

Great pages!! You are such an awesome scrapbooker! I can’t wait to go look for a dirty window to take a picture of myself! 😉 Yours turned out great!

How cute! I have the same problem with the pictures! I have to schedule formal sittings to get any of me with anyone! Love the changes on your blog. Your banner was awesome before but I love the sea! Beautiful! 🙂

Thanks so much for your kind comments! I wanted to let you know that I have long been an admirer of your work. You have such a fantastic style and great taste. These scrapbook layout’s are awsome, just the right amount of bling on the second one, and such a cool photograph for the first. I will have to try that style of photo since you are so right about being behind the camera!

Great idea with the window. I think most of us scrapbookers can relate to being absent in the photos. But what a FANTASTIC photo of you. You’re soooo photogenic..

Fabulous pages!! Love them!! I haven’t done any scrapbooking in a long time! I keep saying I’m going to but I don’t have any ideas!

Very clever! I think the only evidence of my existence will be my journaling in our scrapbooks! The Museo looks beautiful, guess we’ll have to venture downtown to check it out. Is it near the Farmer’s Market? Besides Fiesta is around the corner – gonna be downtown anyway! WOOHOO!!!

Hubba-hubba! Look at that cleavage!!! If I had a picture like that of me, I’d use it on several layouts and make sure my husband had a copy of it on him at all times… : )

What beautiful LOs, Jenn! Ingenious using the reflection for a pic! I share your addiction to Brighton, though I’ve had to go cold turkey for a while since my stamp collection seems to be growing at an alarming rate. And I totally agree with Carole…only I’d have to buy my cleavage first. lol tfs!

They’re all fab, but I love that second one the best! The dark background really sets off the color of the glitter.

All of these are great. I love the bling….especially how the swirl follows it’s path even when it goes onto a layer. Joan

You should have heard me as I kept scrolling down and looking at each of your creations!!! Each gasp got louder and louder!! 🙂 I LOVE the blingy swirls on your first card…then I saw the blingy flowers and ooohhh so pretty papers on the second (my heart rate got going even faster)…and THEN I saw all those eyelets!!! You really could have titled your post “Everything Laurie Will Drool over”!!! Just spectacular, Jenn!!!

Hope your weekend is a good one! 🙂

Oh girl, I started swooning looking at all that product you used…and I’m thinking “She…must…get…more…supplies…soon!” Then I kept reading and luckily saw you were hitting the store that morning! Schwooo! Your projects are AMAZING!! The way you blinged up that Scenic Route paper and all those eyelets on the scrapbook page, you are dedicated to your craft! And too funny about your dh and his cell phone case, because just two nights ago my dh lost a little “rubber foot” off his laptop and wondered if I might have “something” that would work. Duh! Yeah! I looked around and found 12 packs of unused page pebbles (thanks, QVC, from 2003), and he was stunned by my brilliance and ability to come through in a pinch! He even asked if he could have a “couple of extras” in case he lost the other feet, and yeah, I spoiled him and gave him 3 more. Must…go…shopping…!

Accck! Honestly, Jenn! If you just lived closer, I KNOW you would inspire me to scrap! Look at the awesome inspiration of all this time! Wow! The eyelets … the CAD!!! LOL Gotta love the “tools”!

Wow Jen! Those cards are awesome with all that bling! And I love the frame of eyelets… so cool! Crop-a-dile thank you! Can you image doing that with the old hammer method? And I had to laugh at the “get back to.. house cleaning.. that you put off for the weekend (and then generally put off again for next week)”. I can SO identify with that. Cracked me up.

    foreclosures…

Most large rental truck fleets have offices in most major cities as well as larger size towns, something most of the large professional moving companies don t have. This makes it much easier to find, deal with, rent and finally return the rental truck….
