Winter is for the Birds

I made this card for today’s color challenge hosted by Emily over on Splitcoast. Check it out here – Taken With Teal, Baja Breeze, Riding Hood Red, Whisper White are surprisingly pretty together! I found this pretty Cotton Scraps image in my Crafty Secrets stash and thought it would be perfect with these colors. Some vintage crushed glass glitter, rhinestones, and white taffeta ribbon finished it off.

If you’ve ever wondered about winter in South Texas, here’s the view from my office window . . . Texas winter is grey and 76. 🙂

Supposedly a cold front is blowing in tonight or tomorrow. …I’m not a fan of cold weather, but do like it a little chillier than this! And snow? I have seen snow 2-3 times in my life. While I think it’s beautiful, I don’t think I could handle it!

Y’all have a great day!

I love this Jenn. I have not seen this Crafty Secrets cotton panel. It has such a great look. The image is super. We don’t get much snow here in North Carolina either. I am from the midwest and it gets dumped on so I have seen my share of snow.
    Great job.

Gorgeous card Jenn…I hate snow, would much rather it be gray and 76ish, LOL!!

Yeah, I’d switch places with you in a heartbeat! It’s about 10 or so right now. I think the high tomorrow is supposed to be 8. In case you’re wondering, that’s 68 degree difference between MN and TX! And the snow this season has been amazing…over the past 10 or so years, snowfall has dropped dramatically it seems. Last year we had grass showing for Christmas! This year there’s 5 or so inches already on the ground!

Just letting you know I had to turn the AC on today. The thermostat in my house was saying 82. I am about 4 hours South of you. Now tomorrow will be a different story with that cold front coming through. I’m with you on that snow thing. Couldn’t handle it, not to mention I only own flip flops!!
    Beautiful card!!

Do we get snow more often in Austin than in San Antonio?? I’ve only been here since ’95 and I’m pretty sure I’ve seen it at least 3 times? Of course, I’m counting snow that’s like a quarter of an inch thick and melts by 9am the next morning… Love the card, btw. 😀

Ok, it’s Wed Morning…..BRRRRR!! The front came through. Of course my skin is very thin; it is probably only in the 50’s!! I am bundled up with my flip flops on!

So, did you see any snow today? On the news they said that snow was in San Antonio. Aren’t you near there? Here, just north of Houston, it’s 36 degrees and wet! Yuck!
