Flower

Today is Friday

and the first full day of summer for my kids. I was looking forward to sleeping in a little, looking forward to waking up to sunshine and happy faces. Instead, the phone rang early for Mike, the kids are already bored (how can you be bored with SO many books and a yard and a bike and a scooter and a skateboard and a wavemaster and video games and movies and a million channels of kid shows and a sibling to play with?), and I forgot to make my sketch challenge card last night!  I locked myself up, grabbed the sketch, did some digging through my flower jar (I’ve picked my favorites out and put ’em in one jar, and gave the rest away), picked through some patterned paper scraps, and slapped it all together. No stamping. No perfect layering. I like how fun and happy it is!  Totally changed my mood!

Another thing I really like? This sketch! I have enough paper and flowers and buttons out to make a few more, so I’ll do that now that the kids are happily eating breakfast together and no longer bored. I found the cure to that. . . .”Hey, scrub the toilet! You won’t be bored then!” worked for my kids!

Today’s sketch was brought to us by Laurie Schmidlin. Check it out here, and make sure to say hello to Cami, Charmaine, and Lori and Sharon who are likely having a TON of fun hanging out and creating stuff together this weekend!

Darling – I had to laugh out loud at your comment about Sharon and I crocheting in the night. We found those crocheted beauties from Fancy Pants for $1.00 for a package of 8 – it was all over for Sharon. No needles here. 🙂 Have a great day, babe!

Beautiful card! My dd knows if she says that dreaded “bored” word we dump out the undie drawer and let her refold all of them. Works every time!
