Nothing but Blue Skies

unity_febkotm.jpg

. . . from now on!

My daughter’s in the fourth grade and came home with a top secret note from her teacher the other day. Those of you with kids in Texas public schools know that fourth grade’s a TAKS year. . . and the teachers got together and asked all the parents to send little love notes for their kids to open the morning of the big test day.  Adrianna will open the above card on Tuesday. I think she’ll love it – not a lot of pink, but plenty of blue and yellow, a couple of her current favorite colors.

I received my Unity Kit of the Month for February and today was the first time I even had a chance to look at it.  I adore the darling birdies and bird houses and the rainbow and clouds and well, everything! The papers are new Thrift Shop and Fly a Kit lines from October Afternoon, specifically Strawberry Jam (pink with polkadots), Still in Box (yellow damask) and Lemonade (blue with yellow flowers). The colors are so fun and springy!  I colored the little bird with a bunch of Copics and then glittered with a Sakura quickie glue pen and superfine glitter. The ribbon is from a package I got in the mail the other day and the plastic flowers are from Making Memories (think I’ve had them half of forever).

Thanks for coming by. Hope y’all have a wonderful weekend, wherever you are!

eta: She’ll open it WEDNESDAY, ha! I forgot which day the test was on. . .

Beautiful! You should stamp more often! I miss your gorgeous creations. I am sure Adri will LOVE the card. What a sweet idea from the teachers.

I love that stamp from the new kit. I will have to ink it up as well. Your coloring is wonderful as always and the sparkles really finish it off.

    Have a wonderful weekend!
