Copic Marker Announcement . . . and a Giveaway!

Here’s a little (well, not really little – it’s 6″ x 6″) card I finished this morning after sending the kids off to school.  I seem to be needing more birthday cards lately, so I figured I’d stock up! I colored a bunch of birthday-ish images this weekend and plan to use the same layout on all the cards. Quick, easy, done!

howoldb.jpg

It’s pretty straightforward, so I’ll get right to the stuff.
Stamps: Sassy Sentiments and  Francesca from Kraftin’ Kimmie.
InkMemento’s Tuxedo Black + Copics (see this pic for details)
Paper: A whole buncha randomness from my scrap pile.
Accessories: Oval + Scalloped Oval Nestabilities, foam boosters, ribbon and button from my stash, Martha Stewart punch.

And right on to an announcement. . . .

As you may have seen on Marianne’s blog, I’ve joined the Copic certification team! I’ll be working with Sharon and Lori to bring certification classes to the middle of the US. I can’t wait to get started. If you are interested in receiving information about any upcoming certification classes in your area of the country, you can sign up at right here.

Now, the giveaway!   Leave a comment letting me know what your favorite Copic storage solution is and I’ll use random.org sometime Saturday morning to choose a winner. What will you receive if you win? An empty 24pc wallet, perfect for stashing some markers in your purse so that you can color while waiting anywhere.    Also, make sure to visit the other instructors’ blogs for their own giveaways. 🙂 Lots of chances to win!

Congratulations! That’s great news. As for marker storage, I struggle with that. I’m waiting for the new Copic marker case to be available for purchase, so right now I’m using one of those totes, which is way better than my last storage solution–a pencil case.

Congrats…I’m sure you’ll run some fun classes!

I store my own markers in IKEA hanging cutlery tubs. They used to hang off my “sink organizer” on my desk, but since I tend to drag my colouring in front of the TV, they’re now stored (still separated by colour group in the cutlery tubs) in a larger, portable plastic bin. I have a 36 Copic folder that holds some of my (constantly changing) favourites, but it’s a bit big to throw in my purse. I’d love to win your 24-count wallet, so thanks for the opportunity.

Congratulations! I use a turnable organizer that has several little shelves on one side. I got this at Michaels. I would love to have a wallet as I keep wanting my Copics with me when I am driving the kids to their different activities. I love to colour and that would certainly pass the time faster waiting for them.

I’m just getting started in my Copic collection so I don’t have very many. I want to get them all but it will have to take time.

Since I don’t have very many mine are now kept in a little bucket. Thanks for the give away chance!

Woo hoo, Jenn!! You’re a perfect addition to the Copic team!!! I currently store my Copic markers in plastic boxes on my desk top, but have nowhere to store them when I travel. I need this case!!

    Congrats on the new gig!

My favorite Copic storage: two metal picnic containers from Walmart. They are made specifically to hold 6 beer bottles I’m sure since they came with bottle openers on a chain.

Love the card! Thanks for sharing. I am currently using a Pampered Chef Tool Turnabout for my Copics but I would love to have a more portable storage solution for coloring on the go. The copic storage wallets are on my wish list. Thanks for the chance to win!

Wow, wish I had Copics to store! One day I will break into that coloring medium!

Congrats to you!! How exciting it must be. As to my storage ‘solution’? I currently have my copics in one of those cubes from Mich**%L’s with the two drawers that has dividers. They are divided by color. Not very portable for sure!!

Congrats on your new position with the Copic Certification team! I have some of my markers stored on an elastic-banded stand-up holder from a rolling scrap cart, but the Sketch markers fit too snugly. The rest of my markers are in a plastic tub. Would love the Color Cubbie system. . .one day! Thanks for a chance to win this wallet for travel purposes!

My favorite storage…right now I have several buckets and a few Copic plastic cases. Not my favorite. BUT…I have some shelf things coming…so I’ll see how they work. Gotta have my markers out on my desk ready to use at all times!

I also have my Copic collection stored in the hanging stainless cutlery containers…except mine is not hanging…I just have it laying on its side:-) I travel quite a bit with work and, I have been transferring them to an old Creative Memories pouch I have left over from days gone by to take with me. This wallet is EXACTLY what I need so I can keep my Copics organized with I am on the road. Thanks for the chance to win!

Congratulations Jenn! I am pretty new to Copics so my storage solutions are minimal…which means I just toss the half dozen copics I have in a plastic box. I am hoping my Copics will grow and then I’m forced to come up with an idea for storage (not such a bad dilemma if I have to).

  26. Posted April 21, 2010 at 5:48 pm | Permalink

Congratulations Jenn. Maybe you can hitch a ride with Maryanne and Lori when they come to Australia in the next few weeks. I’m hoping to meet them then, but it’s not looking good 🙁 I guess I’m on the waiting list.

I use the clear 72 storage case for my Copics. I like it because it hold all my markers and because it’s clear I can see how pretty they look together.

I’m in Australia so I can’t be entered but I wanted to congratulate you anyway.

I use gallon-sized ziplock baggies. Sounds like I NEED your wallet, huh?

Hey Jenn, have fun with your Copic work, you will be a great addition to the team!!! I love love love your card, lots of perfect Jenn colour as sass!!! I have given my Father the task of building me some cubbies for my Copics, want them out of lightweight materials so that I can pick one up and take it with me if I choose to colour somewhere else…also want them to be horizontally stacked not vertically. I don’t think he can quite believe how many variations of cubbies are out there, I have had him blurfing around, he is just amazed at all of the paper crafters and their storage solutions… hope you are well!!!

Congratulations Jenn. You will do a fantastic job with this.. Your card is adorable.. So you want to know what our favorite storage is…Well mine at the moment is just taking all your markers and shoving them into a basket tightly so they don’t fall out… But my dream storage is the wooden cubicles I have seen out there in blog land. I want to ask my hubby to build me one but that would mean him actually seeing how many markers I own.. 🙂 Thanks for the chance to win and good luck with your new adventure.

OMG Yeah! Congrats on the certification and being an instructor! That is *so* amazing 🙂 I am going to *have* to see when and where you’re teaching! If you’re ever in my area LMK!

I have a few of the ciao sets that I am dying to upgrade to sketch or the square ones. I keep my Ciao sets in the Copic boxes they came in with the lids off. I use the … See Morelids for storing other markers such as my bic it and Spica. I keep them grouped by color so I can just pull out the color grouping I want and slide it back onto it’s shelf. It works for me 🙂

Hi Jenn: I love that layout! I haven’t used it for a while, so I need to go give it a whirl today! Thanks for sharing. I too just have a baby copic collection right now (12 – 15 maybe) so they’re all just in a bucket. I do write the name of the “Stampin Up” color that I am trying to match with that copic on the side of the copic with a sharpie so make it quick when I’m trying to match an SU color. That’s been very helpful. My plan is to take my acrylic 2 x 2 x 5 ” tall boxes that I bought many of years ago for “snowman poop” gifts and store my copics by color family… but first I need to clear some room in my stamp room. Have a great day!

I just purchased at Archivers a small micro-fiber tote by mackinac moon. I will use this for traveling. The inside measures 7″Lx4″Wx6″H with a divided main compartment, I’m going to further divide these 2 compartments so my pens will stay upright better. Also, it has pockets on the outside. It’s a pretty gray with blue trim and lined with paisley and flowers. I feeling kinda “psycho” since my first order of sketch markers haven’t come yet!

Congrats Jenn! I’m SO happy you are going to share your knowledge and talent with the fans of Copic markers. I love mine, and I have around a hundred of them – all kinds. I have a mixture of Sketch, Ciao, and original markers, and they are separated into color families in some re-purposed “Pringles” chip cans. I cut these cans down to be just a little shorter than the actual marker, and then covered with cardstock to match the color groups. This system is not portable, but it works just fine on my desk.
