Flower

Easy does it. . .

. . . wouldn’t want to hurt myself after taking such a long break, right?

I came home from my week-long trip to Chicago both tired and inspired. Once I got the everyday stuff out of the way (you know, dishes, laundry, work), I sat down with some stamps and new paper and played for a little while.

I’d seen some beautiful, bright red poppies on a recent trip and those were on my brain as I stamped and colored these from Flourishes.  I started with no end project in mind, so when I went to finish the card, I froze. It’s been a long while, ha!  Thanks, Beate, for cyber-stamping and helping me with this one. Just like old times!

Here are the Copic colors I used (along with my trusty Memento Tuxedo Black ink).

The poppies were stamped on my new favorite white cardstock. Oh. My. Goodness.  Everything blends so prettily!  It’s a new product brought to you by the wonderful people at Copic. . . X-Press It Blending Card. It’s so silky smooth to the touch and a dream to color on, really just the most perfect paper.  Want to know more? Check out Marianne’s blog!

A note about Copic Certifications – make sure to sign up here if you’d like to be notified of classes opening up in your area!  There are several scheduled through the rest of the year, and we’d love to see you.  Here’s the class schedule if you’re interested. . . and if you’re not, why not? 🙂

red and blue together can do funny things to your eyes. If you stare at the first picture on the screen and relax your eyes a bit it becomes 3D it’s awesome – great card and neat effect even though I’m sure it wasn’t intentional.
