I have these gorgeous handcrafted, over the big long counter cabinets that my father-in-law built in my stamp room, and I so love them! The only thing is that those take up one whole wall! Sure, I have shelves mounted under the cabinets, and racks for ribbon and Primas, and ink and stuff. . . but there’s only so much wall in that room, and I have a LOT more stuff than I have space to store it! I am thinking about getting rid of the big antique pie safe (too dark, too bulky!) and having Mike install more counter to make an L shaped desk. (I should take more pictures of the room. . . after I clean it, of course.)
Wouldn’t these be perfect for more storage over the L? The only thing is that I’d have my back to my big window. Hmm. . . what would you do?

Hey! Love that rail system. How do you get pricing? Love your room, missy! Sometime we are going to party it up in SanAntonio, and I’ll see it LIVE!
Hiya could you not get something like this from Ikea maybe? don’t know what the expense is but maybe worth a little looksy?
The shelf, rail system thingy is SO similar to the one I have from IKEA, and a lot cheaper. There are two rail systems at Ikea in the Kitchen dept. One is black, the other, chrome. Both are wonderful, and are interchangeable.
Anyway, just a thought. I love to save a few $$$’s so I can spend more on SU! stamps. 🙂
Organization? What’s that? Right now, I walk into my stamp room, put down a cardboard box and walk out… 🙁
I’ve always loved your room! Thanks for sharing the link of the rail systems. That is sooooooo awesome…Can’t wait to use all of these ideas in my next home
I love the idea. I may have to invest in this rail system. By the way, I LOVE your stamp room.
I love the idea of a rail system! I have no wall space left (big bird cages take lots of room), but if I did I would look into that for sure!
Jenn – I’ve just recently been looking at putting in a rail for my punches (someone else on SCS did this and it’s so cool). Just a word: you may want to google “rail system” and “storage” first. Home improvement stores (including IKEA) sell similar pieces at a much lower price. The systems are intended for kitchens. Ooops… just saw the other poster, Amy. 🙂 Hugs.
What is this O word you speak of?????
I am actually considering getting the Pier One project table (black) which is very similar to the pottery barn one (but half the price). I am also going to get a 6 or 9 piece cabinet like the one Waxyo linked in her gallery. That will hold a ton of my crap (papers, mags, etc). I need to do *SOMETHING*!!! Don’t tell me Mike is handy!!! I love ya Balcer!
