A thankful heart

Sharon was our fabulous hostess for a little getaway last weekend, and she’s our hostess for this Dirty Dozen Alumni challenge today, too. She challenged us to create a thankful card or gift, Thanksgiving table placecard or treat holder, or Thanksgiving home decor item with at least one heart on the project. I loved this idea, and stayed up till 2 am or so playing with lots of recently acquired things. Hope you enjoy, and hope the people I give these to like them, too!

But first, talking about thankful hearts. . . I have one. I’m so thankful for the people and relationships that Splitcoast has brought into my life. Spending a few days with friends last weekend, seeing the community pull together to support Laurie and Ali and family, seeing the outpouring of support for Kristi after her father passed away unexpectedly. . . it all just makes me all warm and fuzzy. Would you take a moment and leave your condolences on our card from the community? Who knew that a WEBSITE could bring people together like this?

Here are my projects:

I picked up this box at my favorite local packaging store sometime last year, and dressed it up here with some new Making Memories Lg Floral Rouge Paperie double-sided paper, a chipboard house from Scenic Route (covered in Brilliance Pearlescent Chocolate ink), and then landscaped with Creative Cafe felt flowers and some swarovski crystals. I added a Making Memories felt heart and heart paper clip above the chimney. I *think* the dotted cardstock behind the house is Bazzill.

Here’s a close up of the tag (random from my stash) that I polkadotted with Stickles, added a chipboard heart (same paper as box + Cinnamon stickles), a creative cafe felt flower and button, may arts ribbon, and a little flag. I tied the tag on with bakers twine and satin ribbons. I think they’re both May Arts.

A little bird ornament to match this one is inside and nestled in red shredded stuff. I found them at Anthropologie and fell in love, thinking it would be perfect for my tree *and* hers – she does a gorgeous ivory/white/silver/glass tree every year.

Here’s a little coffee bag with some Creative Cafe patterned paper, some twine and twill, and a pretty tag. Lookie. . .I used flocked paper, felt flowers, buttons, and some Maya Road I bought last week! Don’t mind my breakfast there. . . ;).

And a cute pillow box using basically the same supplies as the box above. Lori suggested filling it with chocolate something or other. She lost me after chocolate. . .

Sharon made a comment about my clean table – yeah. . . I cleaned *then* took pictures. 🙂 Here’s proof that I explode:

I’ll be back in the morning. Have a wonderful day, everyone!

I don’t think it’s possible to create without having your desk (or entire space!) explode. That’s my story and I’m sticking with it! 😀 Super duper cute project Jenn!!

No other website can compete in my opinion. There may be imitators….but there’s only one Splitcoast, and it’s my cyber family!

Thanks Jenn…for all you do to make that reality!

I totally love everything you made for the challenge, Jenn!!

Of course I knew about Ali…but I just found out about Kristi’s father. I need to get something out.

rotflmao — Yes, I know you can explode! Gorgeous projects, Jenn, and yes — it’s amazing the friendships a little website can create, isn’t it? I have a thankful heart to call you friend, too! Smooches,
