when something comes out EXACTLY as you pictured it? I love when that happens!
Joy and Daisy donated one of these Bare Elements dress forms for SoCal Stamp Mania, and I kept visiting the prize table to check it out. I knew then that I had to have one of my own, so as soon as I got home, I ordered one (and a few other things, of course!) . . . It came today, and here it is! For me, this is quite the accomplishment – I got something in the mail and actually played with it on the same day!
Here are the details:
Tiffani dress from by Bare Elements was painted with Adirondack paints in Lettuce, Watermelon, and Sunset Orange. I just unscrewed the dauber top, and used a paintbrush on the smaller areas. Once all of the paint was dry, I glue dotted snippets of ribbon from my stash around what would be the waist. To cover all the raggedy edges, I made a sash with some wide ruffle-edged May Arts ribbon, and finished it off with a few Prima Hydrangea flowers and a big green Making Memories brad.
I thought the paint looked a little bare, so I added stripes and dots here and there with Stickles. I tend to head straight for my stamp room/office when I get home and just leave necklaces and bracelets by the computer. Not any more! Now I have a perfect place to hang my jewelry. I love this funky piece, and will have to get the smaller one, and another for Adri to alter. Then I’m sure my mom will want one. . .
