Celery and agapanthus

You just can’t go wrong with a monochromatic card, can you?

agapanthusmartha.jpg

When I was at Michael’s the other day, I picked up a package of this pretty, pretty patterned paper from Martha Stewart’s new craft line. There were three colors (coral, celery, caribbean) and a few patterns in the package, and this one is one of my favorites. I bought the package intending to combine it with my Stampendous images. I was really pleased with the way it worked out!

I started with a Certainly Celery base, and stamped the Agapanthus Bloom (Sidebar: Mine are blooming in the back yard! I should take a picture!) all over in Brilliance Pearlescent Lime.

I then cut a semicircle out of the patterned paper with my Coluzzle, and adhered it to the card. I added a few dots around the circle with my Signo White Gel Pen, and set piece aside.

The Agapanthus Cluster was stamped in Pearlescent Lime on Whisper White cardstock, and I did a little direct to paper on the edges with the same ink. I used my Fastenator and the “smile” staple to add some May Arts ribbon, and adhered the panel to the card with dimensionals. Heidi Swapp clear flower jewels from my stash finished off the card.

I was really tempted to add another layer behind the floral image and am glad I didn’t. I really like this fresh and clean look!

Just gorgeous Jenn! Love the crisp look! Please take pictures of your flowers. I don’t know if I’ve ever seen an Agapahthus before (don’t even know if they would grow here in CO). The only thing to me that would be similar is Allium.

I have a feeling that I’ll be ordering a couple more stamps from EP soon. I just love all the cards that you have made with this stamp.

Gorgeous card!! Agapanthus is my very favorite (well…next to roses) and one of the showy flowers that will bloom here in the desert. Thanks for sharing with(er, uh…enabling)all of us!
