Flower

Poppies. Poppies. Poppies will put them to sleep. Sle-ee-p. . .

Or maybe watercoloring those pretty flowers late at night will work! The Wizard of Oz was one of my favorite movies as I was growing up, and I still love it. The costumes, the music, the beautiful, bright colors, everything! Well, everything except for the flying monkeys. Those just Creeped. Me. Out! My dad would hide behind the couch and grab our shoulders whenever we watched that part. No matter HOW old I am, those monkeys still give me the willies!

Anyway, I made this card at the end of Friday evening. I was already nodding off, but really wanted to finish it up. Love the bright colors, and the easy peasy layout. Here’s my Wizard of Oz-inspired card:
poppy1blog.jpg
Stamps: Poppy Stems, Poppy Trio and Open Bloom (center only, on green)by Stampendous, and Just So Sayings
Cardstock: Pumpkin Pie, Garden Green, Pink Passion, Shimmery White.
Ink: Palette Noir, Garden Green, Pumpkin Pie
Accessories: May Arts ribbon; Creative Candy by A Muse on either side of sentiment, foam dots to raise main image. Watercolored with aquapainter and watercolor crayons, and then added a touch of Orange Peel Stickles.

Trivia: I painted the window wall of my stamp room with Ralph Lauren’s California Poppy. Perfect match. 😀

It’s one of my favorite classic movies, and I love your card. Your watercoloring is wonderful, as well as how you used the Poppy Trio for the background. Nice!!

Wonderful card! Bright and Cheery. – The Wizard of Oz is certainly a classic. Of course it came out the same year as my favorite movie (Gone With The Wind) and to me they are worlds apart but both great movies. I also love “floral” stamps but am trying to resist these which you are making it hard to do! Ida
